How to Make Your Handfasting Cord or Scarf
If you don't want to buy one from me, or you want to make it REALLY special, you can make your own personalized handfasting cord. It can be as easy or complicated as you can afford in time, money and talent.
The easiest is to braid three ribbons together. Remember, you'll need three times the final length in each ribbon. Braid jewelry wire with one of the ribbons to make it stiffer. More complicated ideas include making a gigantic friendship bracelet with three colors, embroidering a length of cloth (like in the movie, Braveheart), or weaving a bit of tapestry (it will end up like a thin scarf - I can do that for you with wool yarn, see above.)
Here's the ideal dimensions of the finished product: 6 feet long, bendy enough to be wound around wrists and tied in a regular knot
Here are some ideas on how to make it special:

Travel Costs:
All honorariums include 60 miles round trip to your site by car. Additional distance incurs a fee of 50 cents per mile from my home base in Raleigh NC. For example, a site 50.7 miles away (i.e., Sanford NC) would incur a round-trip mileage charge of $20.70 per visit to the site.

Methods of Payment
Reverend Su Windsong accepts cash, PayPal, or money order and personal checks, in that order of preference.
Include exact amount only, and a $25 fee for returned checks.
NOTE: A minimum of $60 is required at the time of the initial matrimonial consultation to retain my services for your event date. In the event there is no consultation, the entire amount is due prior to the ceremony. Checks will not be accepted at the ceremony.
