President Obama

I heard the words "President Obama" for the first time today on NPR. Then when I got home, I saw footage of him walking next to President Bush 43 at the White House.

It was a difficult decision to vote for him over Cynthia McKinney, but North Carolina was SUCH as tossup, I knew my one litle vote would truly matter this year. And I wanted to make sure that it was someone with whom I agree 58% of the time rather than 23%.

Did you vote? I hope so, America!

At the end of Prairie Home Companion this week, everyone sang "God Bless America." It was very moving to be singing it a thte top of my lungs with them! (Even if I am for the separation of church and state! LOL)

In harmony,
Rev. Su

Voting Update

There is a great quiz called VoteMatch that will help you select a presidential candidate. It says "2008 Presidential speculation" but it is really the full slate of candidates!

The questions are set up so that you give your disagree/agree opinion on a topic. ALWAYS click the topic to see what Vote Match means by each label!!!! The whole thing takes about 20 minutes to complete.

Here's that link:

Another great tool for North Carolinians is your customized ballot that you can download! It's not the legal ballot, but it lists everyone who is already on the ballot. Please note that Cynthia McKinney (Green Party) is an "authorized write-in candidate" for President. Turns out you can't write just anybody on that line...

It's hard to find on the State Board of Elections site, but here's the direct link:

Remember, it only takes an hour or so to read up on all the candidates in your district and make your choice. Don't make excuses...make CHOICES!
